The Architecture of Cure was a five-day programme organised by DAI-SAI at the former Children’s Maritime Health Resort of Military Insured Persons in Krvavica, Croatia—a modernist building designed by Croatian architect Rikard Marasović in 1965.
We took part in it during our overland journey from Tbilisi to Lisbon. Alongside local and international artists, architects and researchers, we explored the site’s history and contemporaneity: a journey aimed at redefining our understanding of collectivity, performativity, and materiality in relation to the building and the notion of cure.
That led us to propose collective storytelling to the other participants—inviting the group to speculate together on the building, its histories, and what cure might mean in and around it. The outcomes of this collaborative endeavour were integrated into one of the twelve narratives of Between Exhaustion and Cure, depicting our shared experience.
Krvavica has since become the subject of a longer collective engagement. Planet Krvavica (dpr-barcelona and DAI-SAI, 2026) gathers three years of work at the site by many hands, and we are among its contributors.
